Electrical & system diagnostics

Shore power faults, battery drain, parasitic draw, converter failures, and wiring issues — diagnosed with thermal imaging and professional DVOM work before a single part is swapped.

Active corridor: Montana · Wyoming · Idaho · Washington — case-by-case beyond.

Diagnostics first

A flickering light, overnight battery drain, or a converter that only half-charges is rarely "just a part." We test at the source, along the circuit, and at the load — voltage drop, resistance, current draw, continuity — then fix the actual fault.

What we cover

Power faults we chase down

Shore power faults

Miswired pedestals, reverse polarity, open grounds, and failed transfer switches. Incoming power verified before it damages coach gear.

Battery drain & parasitic draw

Methodical draw isolation to the circuit or component still pulling power when everything should be off — not guesswork.

Converter & charger failures

Output voltage, charge stages, and internal fusing tested so you know repair vs replace before money is spent.

Wiring & intermittent faults

Corroded connections, undersized wire, bad splices, damaged insulation — traced systematically to the fault location.

Upgrades

Power systems & energy upgrades

LiFePO4 banks, MPPT solar, and inverter/charger systems only work when sized and commissioned correctly. Undersized or misconfigured builds fail on the first hard weekend.

LiFePO4 battery systems

Bank sized to real usage with proper BMS integration and charge parameters.

MPPT solar controllers

Controller matched to array and bank; more harvest than PWM in variable light.

Inverter / charger setup

MultiPlus / Quattro-class installs that blend shore, solar, and battery cleanly.

Commissioning & VRM

Parameters verified under load; Victron VRM remote monitoring configured when applicable.

Appliances

Dual-fuel appliance repair on site

Most RV appliances switch between LP and 120V/DC. That flexibility creates failure modes residential techs miss. Refrigerators (Dometic & Norcold), furnaces (Suburban & Atwood), rooftop A/C (Dometic & Coleman/Mach), and water heaters — operational test first, then electrical and gas confirmation.

Pricing teaser

Trip fee $75 within 30 miles, then $1.50/mi. Labor ~$150/hr. Diagnostic $150 applied toward repair if you proceed. Parts billed separately.
