Peplink: WAN flapping / failover not sticking

Separate radio problems from bonding/failover design before you chase firmware ghosts.

United Mobile RV is a Peplink Certified Associate. Bonding and failover (SpeedFusion) are not the same — confirm what the router is configured to do, then prove each WAN alone.

Quick path

  1. Test each WAN alone (Starlink, cellular SIM, Wi‑Fi) before enabling bonding.
  2. Check SIM auth, APN, and antenna VSWR/placement for cellular paths.
  3. Confirm whether the profile is failover-only or SpeedFusion bonding — mismatch causes “random” drops.
  4. Update firmware from official Peplink downloads only.
  5. Look for power brownouts and loose WAN Ethernet under vibration.
