DC-DC charger overheating

A DC-DC charger (Orion, DCC, similar) running hot to the touch is often just undersized ventilation in its mounting location rather than a fault with the unit — these generate real heat under load and need airflow, not a sealed cabinet. Check the manufacturer's minimum clearance spec and confirm it's actually being met. If ventilation looks adequate and it's still overheating, that points to the unit itself or it being asked to output more current than it's rated for continuously.
