WiFi extender vs cell booster confusion

These solve two completely different problems and people mix them up constantly: a WiFi extender only helps if there's already a WiFi network nearby to extend (campground WiFi, a hotspot) — it does nothing for cell signal. A cell booster amplifies your phone/hotspot's cellular signal directly and works anywhere there's some cell signal, campground WiFi or not. Which problem are you actually trying to solve — bad campground WiFi, or weak cell signal?
